Note: this list only includes other registered instances in which federation is enabled. Users are free to create and customize their own instances and are not required to federate with the wider network nor register.
Each link will take you to another instance of the deadlight framework, hosted on it's own domain (separate DNS) with unique database, routing, etc. each instance is independent, although will be integrated (if each individual/dev decides to access the mailing list/active blog ips) with the existing Deadlight network. Support for integration with Mastodon and ActivityPub forthcoming.
If you'd like to create your own "deadlight network", visit the project's github for installation instructions. The proxy.deadlight application powers the email server backend (necessary for email federation and self-hosting your domain's inbox locally) and man-in-the-middle interception for ad-blocking. The proxy ties into your system's keyring ensuring no other user's on your local machine can access your inbox, without you directly providing your credentials.
